Temperature changes intensify the aromas of the native cultivars, and the southwestern exposure favors slow, late ripening of the grapes, which mitigates the harshness typical of southern wines.
Hannibal is a deep ruby red with violet hues, with ripe fruit aromas reminiscent of small berries. The wine has good body, with ripe and persistent tannins that close with a pleasant sweet fruitiness; it is soft in the mouth with a pleasant final persistence.
It goes well with baked pasta, lasagna and generally with elaborate first courses, as well as grilled main courses. It is also perfect with tuna or amberjack.
